eVerbatim General Policies, Procedures, Terms & Conditions
Acceptance. By placing and accepting an order, eVerbatim customers acknowledge acceptance of these terms.
All computers sold by eVerbatim include bench testing and custom installation and configuration of bundled software (programs included with the computer such as Windows, utilities, etc.). If Total Eclipse, AccuCap, CaseCATalyst, or other CAT software is licensed to purchaser, those programs also will be pre-installed and are subject to purchaser’s license agreement with the software developer.
Payment for any purchase from eVerbatim may be by credit card (Visa, MC, Discover, or American Express), approved purchase order (government agencies only), cashier’s check, or money order. eVerbatim will accept personal checks but we must wait 5-7 banking days for them to clear before shipping and we cannot accept them for COD orders. If a check is returned, you will be charged a returned check fee.
Refunds and exchanges are subject to the following conditions. We do our best to offer our customers superior products and services (testing, software installation and configuration, etc.) at exceptional value. If, however, the merchandise we deliver does not meet your needs, you may request a refund or replacement within 14 days of delivery, except as noted below.
- Concierge Service Computers. Computers that have been custom configured for the client prior to receiving notice of cancellation will be subject to a 20% restocking fee plus all shipping charges.
- Special-Order Computers or other Custom- or Special-Order Items. Computers ordered to custom specifications by eVerbatim from the manufacturer for a customer, captioning equipment, projectors, or other non-stock items that are ordered specifically for a customer are non-refundable.
- Stenographic Writers. Refunds, if obtainable, are determined by the writer manufacturer and not eVerbatim. These policies are provided within the documentation provided by eVerbatim to the customer at the time of purchase. If you have questions about a specific writer's refund/exchange policy, please contact that manufacturer directly.
- All Other Hardware Items. You will be charged a restocking fee of tweny percent (20%) to cover our order handling and processing costs plus all shipping charges.
- Software. Refunds, if obtainable, are determined by the software developer and not eVerbatim. Out-of-pocket expenses such as sales commissions and training (both of which are provided by independent contractors), shipping, group discounts (if any), and elapsed technical support, may also be deducted. Software cannot be returned without first obtaining a Return Merchandise Authorization number from the developer.
- Incorrect Items. If we ship you the wrong item, we will issue a replacement and cover your return shipping costs. For further information regarding return shipping, call us at 800-377-1525.
- Returned Merchandise Authorization (RMA) Numbers. Customers must obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization number (RMA#) from eVerbatim within the appropriate time frame to receive a timely replacement or refund. To obtain an RMA number, call us at 800-377-1525. Returned merchandise must be received by us within 10 business days after we issue the RMA number. All computers and other hardware devices returned to eVerbatim must be in as-new condition, with the original box and all packing materials, must have an RMA number, and will be subject to the above-cited restocking fees.
- Reimbursements. All refunds, regardless to how the product(s) were initially purchased, will be issued by a company check within 15 days of the receipt of the returned product and mailed to the person listed on the billing section of the order.
Warranties. Each product is packaged with the manufacturer's warranty and service information detailing their specific terms and conditions. Please read this information carefully. We encourage you to complete the warranty form and to send it to the manufacturer.
- Concierge Service Lenovo Computers include a warranty extending one or more years covering manufacturer defects. Additionally, eVerbatim supports its custom configurations for 90 days after delivery, and will provide technical support by appointment during our normal business hours (M-F 9a-5p ET). Thereafter support is provided by appointment at our normal labor rates.
- In the event of a hard drive failure during your warranty term caused by a defect, Lenovo will restore your computer to your model’s standard Windows load, not the custom load created by eVerbatim. If you wish eVerbatim to recreate the custom load we provided when you purchased your computer, approximately 4-5 hours of labor are required and normal labor rates will apply.
- Perhaps the greatest cause of hard drive failure is a malware or virus infection so extensive it corrupts the entire Windows Operating System. The drive is physically fine but needs to be reformatted and reloaded. Unless you have backed up your custom load and work files, the loss is as complete as a physically-failed hard drive.
- Backup. For this reason, we strongly recommend that our customers perform a complete system (image) backup of their machines after receiving them, and maintain an ongoing and comprehensive backup scheme. It is the customer’s responsibility to back up their computer, but eVerbatim offers backup solutions on its website to assist customers with this process.
- Peripheral devices such as microphones, routers, spare adapters, etc., are warrantied by the manufacturer. eVerbatim will assist with installation or implementation for 30 days after purchase with a single support call. Thereafter support is provided by appointment at our normal labor rates.
Rebates. Rebates offered by participating manufacturers only. eVerbatim is not responsible for any part of the rebate redemption process. We encourage you to complete the rebate form and to send it to the manufacturer.
Shipping Note. All laptops, steno writers, and other items with a value exceeding $150 are shipped with a signature required. If you wish to waive the signature requirement, you must do so at your own risk, assuming all responsibility for any parcels that are missing after delivery.
